About The Position

AOCUSA is hiring a Quality Control Shift Manager for the Second Shift (2:00 PM– 10:30 PM), Monday – Friday + Overtime as Needed. Amalie Oil Company is North America's largest privately held independent blender of motor oils and industrial lubricants, with production facilities in Tampa, Florida; Charleston, South Carolina; and the Los Angeles area. Amalie manufactures over 3,000 products and distributes to all 50 states and over 100 countries. This role facilitates efficient production operations by planning, leading, and implementing quality assurance (QA) programs.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodology.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Bachelor’s degree in related industrial, scientific, or business field
• At least three years of related experience in manufacturing and production required.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in related industrial, scientific, or business field – preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations
• Maintain policy compliance and safety standards on the floor
• Distribute all necessary tasks and duties during each shift in a fair and effective manner
• Resolve immediate staff disputes and coach team performance
• Adjust staffing on the fly for sudden worker callouts
• Understand and support all distinct quality control roles across the entire department
• Fill in for Quality Control Technician role when needed
• Conduct regular internal audits
• QC breakdown of nonconforming products and materials
• Fix immediate technical issues
• Ensure department goals are met
• Verify proper documentation on production paperwork
• Provide instruction to production personnel on nonconforming product/material correction
• Ensure facility-wide adherence to the ISO 9001 standard
• Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss goals, progress, and any issues in need of resolution
• Escalate severe incidents like injuries or theft to the Manager
• Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships
• Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business
