About The Position

The Quality Control (QC) Lab Technician - DPI position is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt/Hourly role located in Hauppauge, NY. The general duties and responsibilities include performing sample management for all incoming raw materials, in-process, finished products, and stability samples. This involves receipt, logging, distribution, and destruction of samples. The technician will also coordinate chemical and reference standard inventory, update sample information in SAP, maintain lab consumables, oversee temperature and humidity monitoring for stability chambers, conduct sample loading, and assist with sample shipments to contract labs. General housekeeping and other assigned activities are also part of the role. The position requires working in a cGMP laboratory or manufacturing environment with appropriate personal protective equipment and handling various pharmaceutical materials. Long periods of standing/walking, ascending/descending ladders, and lifting up to 35 pounds may be required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or educational equivalent credential (ex. GED) required.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Programs to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other lab-related systems.
  • 2 years’ work experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Proficiently speak English as a first or second language.
  • Have excellent organization, learning and teaching skills required to work in teams.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex data sets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and other scientific based software.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or higher in Chemistry, Laboratory Science, or related fields of study from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in Inhalation products (MDI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample management for all incoming raw materials, in-process, finished products and stability samples including but not limited to receipt, logging distribution and destruction.
  • Coordinate chemical and reference standard inventory in the lab, verifying the expired chemicals and standards and discarding as per company procedures.
  • Update all sample information in SAP as per company procedures.
  • Complete data entry as required.
  • Maintain lab consumables supply and placing orders as per requirement.
  • Oversee temperature and humidity monitoring for stability chambers.
  • Conduct sample loading in stability chambers and submitting stability samples as per schedule.
  • Assist in the shipment of the samples to contract labs as required.
  • Provide general housekeeping in the QC lab and any other functional activity as assigned by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
