About The Position

Unami DNI Joint Ventures LLC has an immediate opening for a highly qualified project Quality Control Manager for an ongoing USACE Design/Bid/Build U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, (USACE), project on JBSA, Fort Sam Houston, TX. This is a three-to-four-month duration opening and is an on-site field position.

Requirements

  • Experienced in managing US Army Corps of Engineers projects.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehension of design documents including design drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and safety law.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control regulations, and safety regulations.
  • Computer literacy, excellent communications with other employees, subs, clients.
  • Certifications in OSHA 30, Construction Quality Control Management (CQM), First Aid and CPR, EM-385
  • Knowledge of quality control regulations in construction.
  • Ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and conduct correspondence related to work.
  • A self-starting highly motivated and goal-oriented individual.
  • Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality.
  • Very organized with a systematic approach task to achieve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.
  • Professionally and technically competent.
  • Quick, sharp, confident, assertive, ethical, and ambitious.
  • Analytical with the ability to examine issues from multiple viewpoints.
  • Friendly and out-going in social contacts.
  • Works easily with others.
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications.

Nice To Haves

  • 4-yr college degree preferred but not required. Desirable study concentration in construction management.
  • Previous management experience, a plus
  • Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering with regards to specification driven quality requirements.
  • Work consistently and effectively communicate with government Contracting Representatives and identified end users.
  • Establish and communicate project quality requirements to the project management team.
  • Collaborate with the project management team on the set-up and implementation of key processes and application methods.
  • Develop and issue project specific quality requirements and an inspection and test matrix based on specifications, codes and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Responsible for coaching, training and mentoring field quality managers.
  • Confirm conditions adverse to quality are identified, documented, disposition and tracked through acceptance and closure.
  • Support the Corrective Action resolution process.
  • Review and confirm compliance of subcontractor Quality submittments and Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Support the development of project turn-over packages and confirm they are populated and correspond to project activities.
  • Comply with all Safety & Health requirements and monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety standards.
