It is a hands-on leadership position where the manager will direct the quality work of production staff, hold them accountable to standards, and recommend or initiate termination for underperformers, in coordination with the Head of Production. Prior experience in screen printing or the apparel industry is a plus but not required; the company prioritizes candidates with a strong eye for detail, good judgment, and leadership confidence, offering training on the technical aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • A sharp eye for detail; ability to notice and address small problems.
  • Strong judgment under pressure; ability to make good decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence to lead and provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for most of the day.
  • Basic computer skills for logging reports and tracking data.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. with current and valid legal documents.
  • Must pass a background check prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in quality control, production inspection, or a manufacturing role.
  • Experience in the screen printing or apparel industry.
  • Familiarity with color matching and Pantone color codes.
  • Prior experience leading or directing the work of others.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming garments and printing supplies for accuracy, color correctness, and defects.
  • Monitor print jobs during production for color accuracy (including Pantone numbers), proper alignment, and consistent quality.
  • Perform quality checks at each production stage (before printing, during printing, after drying) to identify issues early.
  • Inspect finished garments for defects such as smudged prints, missing colors, misaligned designs, holes, stains, or incorrect sizes.
  • Pull defective pieces, document them, and coordinate reprints or corrections with production supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of quality checks, defect counts, and production data using internal tracking systems.
  • Communicate directly with press operators and production staff, addressing quality issues, providing clear feedback, and guiding corrections.
  • Direct the quality work of production staff, hold them accountable to standards, and recommend or initiate termination for consistent failure to meet expectations, in coordination with the Head of Production.
  • Audit team adherence to standard procedures for printing, drying temperatures, garment handling, and packaging.
  • Track patterns in quality issues and report findings to management with recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure finished products are correctly folded, bagged, labeled, and packaged according to customer and shipping requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe quality control workstation and inspection area.
