About The Position

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Manager (QCM) to join their team. The QCM will report to the Project Manager and support the operations team. This role requires a team player who is highly motivated, has a strong work ethic, and maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The position is based out of the regional office in South Bay, FL. Thalle Construction, established in 1947, is a heavy civil construction company with projects nationwide. They specialize in heavy civil infrastructure, including dams, reservoirs, locks, DOT roadway construction and bridges, large diameter utilities, landfills, mass excavation, and wastewater services. Thalle is a proud representative of the Tully Group, a large privately held, family-owned construction firm.

Requirements

A graduate engineer, or a construction management graduate with a preferred minimum of 10 years of construction experience on construction projects, similar in scope and magnitude to this contract.
Prior experience working with the Bureau of Reclamation.
Verifiable experience as a Construction Quality Control Manager.
Experience leading and managing a quality control staff.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to move freely about a construction site that at times present a demanding terrain including, but not limited to, climbing of ladders and stair towers, uneven and often wet surfaces, and slopes.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.

Responsibilities

Provide Quality Control Systems Management and oversight.
Extensive document control and experience working with the Bureau of Reclamation.
Onsite at all times during construction and is employed by the prime contractor.
Responsible for overall management of the Construction Quality Control Program with the authority to act in all quality control matters for the contractor.
Maintain all documents (letters, material submittals, shop drawing submittals, Schedules, project documentation) and records at the site, except as otherwise acceptable to the Contracting Officer.
Review and approve all construction submittals.
Conduct a minimum of three phases (Preparatory, Initial and Follow up) of control for each definable feature of the construction work.
Overall responsibility and oversight for quality aspects of the project, including management of all quality control personnel and reporting as required.
