About The Position

The Quality Control Manager ensures that manufactured products meet customer expectations and fit their intended purpose. This role involves developing and enforcing good manufacturing practices (GMP), validating processes, managing documentation, and leading staff. The manager will be involved in planning, coordinating, organizing, and controlling production within the facility. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, manages time effectively, works independently, and adheres to Alpha's standards for safety and conduct. This role also carries supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and conflict resolution.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing to strategic plans, implementing standards, resolving problems, completing audits, and identifying system improvements.
  • Develop quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses, identifying critical control points, establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications, measuring production, documenting evidence, performing qualification tests, and updating procedures.
  • Maintain and improve product quality through audits, investigating customer complaints, and collaborating on new product development and manufacturing methods.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting and analyzing information on failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Update job knowledge by studying trends, participating in educational opportunities, reading publications, and maintaining professional networks.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by taking ownership of new requests and adding value to accomplishments.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding/disciplining employees, and resolving complaints.
  • Follow plant-specified job specifications and tasks.
  • Develop and provide training and communication for food safety and quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation such as SOPs, manuals, policies, and procedures related to food safety.
  • Manage facility food safety audits and third-party audits.
  • Manage monitoring and verification activities to ensure products meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Update existing food safety procedures and documentation.
  • Lead the site food safety initiatives.
  • Assist buyers with training and educating potential suppliers.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager and/or General Manager on food safety or quality assurance issues.
  • Provide support for the proper maintenance and sanitation of all facilities to comply with food safety requirements.
  • Ensure all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly.
  • Adhere to all required safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct oneself in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for food safety, food quality, and site safety.
