About The Position

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) ensures all construction meets VA specifications. You will implement, maintain, and enforce the Project Quality Control Plan. This role requires you to be on-site at all times during construction, track deficiencies and ensure correction, and control submittals, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum four (4) years of related construction experience.
  • Current USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification.
  • Direct experience managing Department of Veterans Affairs projects.
  • Familiarity with VA Master Specifications and healthcare building codes.
  • Valid OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification.
  • Proficiency in RMS or similar federal project management software.
  • Strong written communication for technical report writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex healthcare blueprints.
  • Collaborative mindset to work with VA Resident Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the 3-phase quality control system daily.
  • Perform preparatory, initial, and follow-up rework inspections.
  • Maintain daily QC reports and submittal logs.
  • Schedule and oversee independent material testing labs.
  • Chair weekly QC coordination meetings with VA stakeholders.
  • Verify shop drawings and materials against contract documents.
  • Be on-site at all times during construction.
  • Track deficiencies and ensure correction.
  • Control submittals, testing, and documentation.
