About The Position

Responsible for planning, implementing and enforcing quality control of all custodial/janitorial work in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW), Quality Control Plan (QCP), and all applicable federal or DoD requirements. The QUCM ensures custodial/janitorial work meets standards through systematic inspections, corrective actions, and continuous quality improvement in partnership with Chimes DC management. Position requires strong interpersonal skills, and compassion and respect for persons with disabilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience within the past five (5) years in performing quality control inspections or managing a quality control program for similar services
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of building service management as well as relevant equipment and chemicals and their applications
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to go up and down stairs
  • Ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, stoop, and crawl
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to see details on the floor, above the head, or on surfaces
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and government staff
  • Ability to supervise and develop others

Nice To Haves

  • Valid CPR/FA certification preferred
  • Knowledge of green cleaning principles and CIMS certification requirements
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, hospital standards, and facility management
  • Knowledge about regulations for SDS, Fire and Safety, Hazard Communications and Bloodborne Pathogens

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Chimes policies and procedures and follow contract specifications
  • Implement and manage the quality control program as approved by the site contracting office, Chimes District of Columbia (DC) management, and building management.
  • Assure that the performance objectives and standards are met through the quality control program.
  • Conduct daily inspections of routine, follow-up, and any periodic work performed to ensure proper cleaning and quality control
  • Prepare and submit inspection reports to the Project Manager.
  • Give timely feedback on inspections to managers, supervisors, and crew leaders
  • Provide coaching and training on custodial procedures and quality standards.
  • Review and respond to inspection/deduction reports
  • Maintain a file of complete and accurate inspection reports, corrective actions, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain effective communication by responding promptly to contracting office staff, building management, customers, and Chimes DC staff and management
  • Use inspection data to identify trends, reduce complaints, improve customer satisfaction, and support a continuous quality improvement process
  • Prepare and submit all required paperwork on time
  • Use the computer/mobile phone to perform duties and follow the electronic inspection schedule
  • Comply with and ensures staff compliance with all building and security requirements
  • Pass and comply with CPR/First Aid training and OSHA training
  • Conduct training in proper custodial/janitorial procedures for custodial staff
  • Conduct safety training, chemical training, and security training
  • Conduct training on Chimes Rules of the Workplace
  • Assist supervisors with new hire training and orientation
  • Establish job task schedule
  • Assumes other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as needed
