About The Position

Nature Fresh Farms is seeking a full-time, permanent Quality Control Lead for their Quality Control Department at the Laredo, TX facility. This role involves leading the QC team, monitoring product quality, reporting on team performance, and ensuring compliance with company standards and safety regulations. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of Quality Control experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, delegate, provide direction to staff and resolve issues fairly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software programs (NAV, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft teams, WMS).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment by multitasking and prioritizing work while being attentive to details and quality.
  • Ability to embrace and adapt to the rapid growth, innovation, and development of the company.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ability to address difficult situations confidentially, professionally, and respectfully.
  • Safety Shoes required.
  • Availability for after-hours communication as needed/necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assign daily work priorities and inspection coverage for QC team members.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound product quality to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Quality Control Manager on each QC employee's performance.
  • Assist in identifying and escalating loads requiring USDA or FDA holds.
  • Maintain clerical records, inspection logs, and inspection reports.
  • Communicate quality concerns to Quality Control leadership and warehouse teams.
  • Support product disposition decisions.
  • Investigate defects, damages, temperature issues, and customer complaints.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence to support daily quality operations.
  • Conduct daily meetings with the QC Team to communicate departmental/company matters.
  • Maintain daily contact with the Quality Control Manager and other departments to address operational issues.
  • Ensure daily cleaning of equipment and sign-offs are completed.
  • Ensure equipment is working properly and address any equipment concerns.
  • Communicate regularly with the team to ensure they are aware of and follow their responsibilities and all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide hands-on training and follow-up to new hires, with ongoing training, development, and coaching.
  • Participate in Employee Relations and work collaboratively with the Quality Manager for progressive discipline, coaching, performance reviews, and investigations.
  • Lead their team to improve performance and standards of quality through motivation and encouragement.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.
