About The Position

This role involves assisting the Quality Control Manager with record maintenance for third-party agencies and training other Quality Control personnel. The position requires a strong understanding of pipe and testing standards, with the ability to research answers as needed. Responsibilities include the proper use of measurement tools, completing various reports, and conducting thorough inspections of pipe to ensure it meets all required standards.

Requirements

  • Proper use of the O.D. tape, micrometer and calipers
  • Complete all necessary paperwork; line reports, scrap report, problem sheets and production report
  • Complete checking/count of the yard prior to releasing into inventory and making sure all necessary paperwork is distributed to the appropriate people
  • Complete all checks required per standards for the pipe to include, wall, O.D., roundness, length and print readings, bell checking and visual inspection of the pipe
  • Check lift qualities, wood set ups and banding
  • Monitor scrap and report issues to the Production Supervisor
  • Report any discrepancies found with the pipe or set ups to the appropriate staff
  • Ability to cut and test pipe per standards
  • Have a general knowledge on how to troubleshoot equipment in the lab
  • Keep the work area clean and organized
  • MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT UP TO 50 POUNDS. ASSISTANCE IS REQUIRED ON ANYTHING 50 POUNDS -- NO EXCEPTIONS
