About The Position

Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. (TKI) is seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to support the company's quality program, ensuring products meet standards and specifications. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with good organizational skills. While a background in chemistry or previous lab experience is preferred, it is not required. Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to operate instrument software are critical. The position involves monitoring product quality through analytical testing, facilitating laboratory functionality, and analyzing/reporting results. This role is based in TKI's innovation center in Phoenix, AZ.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with wet chemistry and titrations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to become trained on complex instrumentation including ICP, liquid chromatography, atomic absorption, and gas chromatography.
  • Comfortable with computers and able to use or learn instrument software/operation.
  • Able to be on your feet for a majority of the day.

Responsibilities

  • Follow laboratory and company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and good housekeeping.
  • Ensure data quality and method integrity.
  • Prepare written documents to report test results in a timely manner.
  • Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data to select corrective steps.
  • Maintain the integrity of the sample retention library.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of lab equipment and associated computer programs.
  • Assist in tracking and maintaining the inventory of lab supplies.
  • Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Perform duties with limited supervision.
  • Comprehend and carry out detailed instructions.
