About The Position

Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. (TKI) is seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to support the company's quality program, ensuring products meet established standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with computers, particularly the Microsoft Office suite. While a background in chemistry or previous lab experience is preferred, it is not required. The role involves monitoring product quality through analytical testing, facilitating laboratory operations, and analyzing/reporting results. This position is based in TKI's innovation center in Phoenix, AZ, and offers the opportunity to work with passionate peers supporting the world's food supply through chemistry.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with wet chemistry and titrations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to become trained on complex instrumentation including but not limited to ICP, liquid chromatography, atomic absorption, and gas chromatography.
  • Being on your feet for a majority of the day.
  • Able to use or learn instrument software/operation.

Responsibilities

  • Follow laboratory and company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and good housekeeping.
  • Ensure data quality and method integrity.
  • Prepare written reports of test results in a timely manner.
  • Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data to determine corrective actions.
  • Maintain the integrity of the sample retention library.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of lab equipment and associated computer programs.
  • Assist in tracking and maintaining the inventory of lab supplies.
  • Keep equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Perform duties with limited supervision.
  • Carry out detailed instructions.
