About The Position

The Quality Control Lab Technician maintains quality control processes by testing production batches according to written methods and recording and analyzing results to ensure Sherwin products meet quality specifications and customer requirements. The technician identifies issues in both in-spec and out-of-spec data, interprets results and historical data, and provides production personnel with instructions for batch adjustments as needed. The role works a night-shift Continuous Operating Shift (COS) schedule on a 2-2-3 rotation, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The position is eligible for a performance-based bonus subject to the terms of applicable Company plans.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience working in a quality control laboratory.
• At least one year of experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility.
• An associate's degree or higher in Chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tests are completed and results meet specifications before products move to the next production process.
• Enter batch data into the electronic batch records system.
• Generate paperwork as needed to meet customer specifications.
• Gather and send customer samples as required.
• Use appropriate computer systems to test products effectively.
• Determine the disposition of non-compliant finished goods.
• Place non-conforming material on hold as needed.
• Support ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed.
• Create, maintain, and update Quality Department standard operating procedures to meet ISO requirements.
• Assist in training other laboratory technicians as needed.
• Interpret test results and historical data and provide production personnel with instructions for batch adjustments as needed.
