Quality Control Inspector
About The Position
Aecon is a leader in delivering complex and impactful infrastructure projects, including transportation, energy, industrial, and nuclear programs. The Shoreline Power Group, a joint venture of Aecon and Atkinsrealis in Kincardine, Ontario, is central to the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. This program involves replacing main components of 6 reactors, including calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders, as part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program to ensure safe operation through 2064. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing all quality functions and duties related to the FCFR construction activities under the JV QA Program, reporting to the Project Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Requirements
- Graduate secondary school education in welding technology, QA/QC or a related discipline at a University or College level
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Computer literate in MS Office
- ASME Code, B&PV plus Nuclear/ ISO 9001 and CWB experience
Nice To Haves
- W178 Level 1 or 2 Visual Weld inspection
- Previous experience in receiving inspections and controls within a Nuclear Qualified Warehouse and Clean Room would be considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Participate in execution of the Inspection and Test Plans
- Perform quality inspection in accordance with the related codes and customer specifications
- Perform dimensional inspections
- Perform visual welding inspection
- Perform hardness testing
- Perform positive material identification
- Review of Certified Material Test Reports as required
- Perform internal weld monitoring as required
- Complete all associated documentation and forms for individual inspections
- Tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/preventative action requests
- Participate in the development and maintenance of a cost of quality tracking system
