About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that a product meets customer expectations in various ways. This role supports company managers and engineers in day-to-day factory floor activities, addresses issues with customers and suppliers, and contributes to Quality Assurance. The Inspector will measure and monitor key quality characteristics of the process before product is released to the customer. The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for assisting Quality Assurance in ensuring specifications are met, aiding in external/internal audit preparations, and performing daily tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Familiar with ISO9001, AS9100, Nadcap and Quality Management Systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years of working in a Quality Department, preferably with some quality control & assurance training and responsibility, however similar experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents written in English such as procedure manuals, work instructions and customer drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to write legible notes and correspondence in English, as well as to speak and communicate well with coworkers and superiors in English.
  • Must be able to pass required eye exam.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Drive for continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace Quality experience a plus.
  • Metal Surface Finishing experience a strong plus.
  • Spanish would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review completed Route Cards for completeness and compliance.
  • Communicate internally and with customers to resolve issues, such as count discrepancies, defects, etc.
  • Perform contract review by comparing customer requirements to internal documentation.
  • Review certifications after order completion prior to releasing to customer.
  • Assist in the review of specification, procedural, and route card changes as required.
  • Perform incoming gauge check of customers gauges daily if required, and maintain calibration for external gauges.
  • Follow all applicable company and/or customer supplied procedures and policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Verify all route cards are accurate and complete from release to final inspection.
  • Verify all customer specific recording and reporting is complete and accurate.
  • Thoroughly inspect parts before releasing to packaging.
  • Perform internal audits and support external supplier quality audits.
  • Delegate any reworks needed at final inspection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  • Drive zero defect using various quality, lean, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Read and interpret customer drawings and instructions.
