About The Position

The Shaw Precast Division specializes in a variety of precast products for industrial, commercial, residential, and retail markets. We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Shaw Precast Division. This role reports to the Lead Quality Specialist and involves developing expertise in concrete quality and Shaw Precast products, overseeing quality control, continuous improvement, and process development programs. The Quality Control Inspector will be a key member of the Operational team, requiring a hands-on approach to quality monitoring and problem-solving, and will be involved in all stages of the process.

Requirements

  • A Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent OR a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/shop drawings.
  • Proven problem-solving experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience with information analysis and decision modeling.
  • Strong computer skills considered an asset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a focus in the fields of concrete/cement industry considered an asset.
  • Experience with Quality Management systems and Quality/Process Control would be a strong asset.
  • Previous experience conducting physical lab and on-site materials testing considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Measuring, identifying, and verifying the materials and sizes of the fabricated components versus the detailed drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with all Regulatory standards related to our products.
  • Assisting in achieving departmental goals within targeted budgets by meeting deadlines for workload completion.
  • Facilitating root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions, when required.
  • Communicate with both Operations and Sales to ensure a quality SHAW product.
  • Provide technical assistance and problem solving to Engineering, Operations, and Sales as necessary.
