About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for receiving parts from customers and/or vendors, and other material from suppliers. This role involves inspecting all items for damage and performing necessary inspection procedures to ensure that incoming parts meet all required specifications and standards. The inspector will prepare repair documents utilizing computer software and required procedures, become competent in the use of measuring devices and hand tools, and become familiar with ISO policy and procedures. Additionally, the role includes maintaining inventory and appropriate stock levels.

Requirements

  • Must have H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with both arms.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Must be able to talk and hear.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Have the ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

  • Become competent in the use of measuring devices and hand tools.
  • Become familiar with ISO policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Log in, inspect and analyze parts that are shipped/mailed in from other companies or clients for service.
  • Read repair instructions and produce repair (Traveler) documents.
  • Contact customer for information, etc. Be able to communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Requisition detail components and maintain inventory/stock levels.
  • Work at a computer console entering parts. Become familiar with computer software system.
  • Maintain inventory of rotable material and stock verification.
  • Assist other inspectors and employees as needed.
  • Assists in the management of the Quality Management System to assure each department has documented there procedures and the procedures are implemented and effective. Utilize and implement standard work in each department.
