About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector will ensure our custom manufactured products meet client specifications and company quality standards. You'll inspect structural steel, electrical assemblies, and fabricated components throughout production from incoming materials through final release for power distribution buildings serving oil & gas, marine, and energy clients. This is a hands-on shop floor role. You'll work directly with welders, fabricators, and assembly technicians to catch issues early, coordinate with engineering on quality concerns, and serve as the quality gatekeeper before products ship to customers.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience performing quality control of structural and electrical assemblies within an electrical‐ type equipment manufacturing environment, such as switchboard, motor control centers, controllers manufacturing, etc.
  • Ability to travel between all three facilities in Belle Chasse, LA & Bay St. Louis, MS.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of Mission Critical Group’s products and equipment.
  • Use of tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets/sockets, tape measures, and torque wrenches.
  • Extensive knowledge of processes related to our products.
  • The ability to recognize unsafe work habits.
  • Understanding OSHA regulations.
  • Intermediate Verbal & Written Communication Skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Intermediate Math Skills, including ability to calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience applying ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements, preferred.
  • ASQ certification in lean manufacturing, six sigma, preferred.
  • ISO Internal Auditor Certifications, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to client specifications.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
  • Conduct As-Built Quality Reviews to ensure our products meet or exceed client expectations in terms of quality, uniformity, and reliability upon final inspection.
  • Facilitate the timely and effective resolution of product quality issues by serving as a liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing Managers and/or Production Foreman.
  • Ensure Mission Critical Group’s quality and reputation by coordinating the UL labeling of products and assisting during UL inspections and other third-party inspections.
  • Uphold impeccable quality levels by working closely with the Manufacturing Manager to continually develop an understanding of Mission Critical Group’s Policies & Procedures and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Engage in systematic listening and responsiveness with partners and key clients by assisting the Manufacturing Manager in handling complaints in a timely and effective manner.
  • Decrease operational costs and risks by actively assisting in the development and maintenance of policies that enhance process compliance and ensure product quality.
