About The Position

Mako Industries is hiring a Quality Control Inspector that will be responsible for performing visual inspections of welds and dimensional quality checks on fabricated components and assemblies. The inspector ensures that work is completed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, approved procedures, and established quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Good knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, and basic measurement techniques.
  • Experience using tape measures, calipers, levels, squares, and other measuring equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes and common weld discontinuities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional defects.
  • Ability to accurately document inspection results.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in quality control, fabrication, welding, or dimensional inspection preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of welds for workmanship, appearance, size, location, and visible defects.
  • Perform dimensional inspections of fabricated parts and assemblies using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, angles, hole locations, thicknesses, elevations, and overall fit-up against approved drawings.
  • Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and welding symbols.
  • Inspect fabrication work during cutting, fitting, welding, and assembly operations.
  • Verify weld fit-up, joint preparation, alignment, and general fabrication quality.
  • Identify and document dimensional discrepancies, weld defects, and other quality issues.
  • Record inspection results accurately on inspection reports, checklists, or quality documentation.
  • Communicate quality issues to welders, fabricators, supervisors, and management.
  • Verify that corrective actions and rework meet specified requirements.
  • Perform final quality checks before components or assemblies are released.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and ensure measuring tools are properly calibrated.
  • Follow company quality procedures, safety requirements, and applicable industry standards.
