About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team in a fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AS9100 quality standards and be proficient in generating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102. This role involves performing detailed in-process and final inspections, using precise measurement tools, and ensuring that both raw materials and finished goods meet customer specifications and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • 4 years of quality control or inspection experience in the aerospace and defense industry
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 quality management system
  • Proven experience creating FAIRs per AS9102
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
  • Experience working with both raw materials and finished goods
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to comply with ITAR regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CMM inspection or programming
  • Familiarity with ERP or QMS systems
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Lean or Six Sigma training

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, final, and incoming inspections in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Create and maintain First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) following AS9102 guidelines
  • Inspect and verify the conformity of raw materials, components, and finished products
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
  • Use a variety of precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other metrology equipment
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, internal procedures, and industry standards (AS9100/ISO 9001)
  • Identify and document non-conformances and support root cause and corrective action processes
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues
  • Maintain accurate and thorough inspection records and documentation
  • Assist in audit preparation and support both internal and external audits
