About The Position

Leonardo Helicopters is searching for a motivated, detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our manufacturing and assembly team. We are seeking an experienced, responsible professional with exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. An inspector is in charge of maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and making sure all technicians are complying with the company specifications and work instructions. Other duties include generating reports, approving finished products, and entering the accumulated data. This position comes with a great deal of responsibility. You will need to be available to work full-time and any certifications are a plus. The below responsibilities are not intended to be all-inclusive and the candidate may also perform other minor tasks as assigned:

Requirements

  • HS education or equivalent.
  • Hands-on inspection or technical assembly experience in an aerospace, aviation, or helicopter manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work directly from engineering blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Proficient with Windows PC environments and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to assertively and respectfully enforce quality boundaries and safety protocols.
  • Ability to move about freely in active assembly areas with moving aircraft and parts.
  • Ability to lift, handle, and maneuver heavy components weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments where exposure to noise, chemicals, and fumes will occur.

Nice To Haves

  • A&P License a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections across production lines, flight lines, and experimental aircraft for airframe structures, mechanical/electrical systems, and components.
  • Inspect aircraft components utilizing engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, sketches, diagrams, CAD drawings, and technical instructions.
  • Maintain proficiency with specialized precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, multi-meters, etc.) and apply standard quality techniques to evaluate tolerances and limitations.
  • Accept or reject completed work orders and sign off on technical documentation once required quality standards are met.
  • Execute aircraft "shake inspections," properly annotating defects relative to specification and type design requirements.
  • Generate Quality Notifications (QNs), defect sheets, work instruction defects, and annotated pictures in company database systems (SAP, JIRA) for non-conforming parts or processes.
  • Support company safety standards and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention programs with dedicated inspections.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Design Organizations (DO) on Material Review Board (MRB) functions and support customer acceptance processes.
  • Clearly communicate quality requirements and non-conformities to technicians, supervisors, and production management, providing technical feedback to elevate workforce competency.
