About The Position

JELD-WEN is a leading global designer, manufacturer and distributor of high-performance interior and exterior doors, windows and related building products serving the new construction and repair and remodeling sectors. Jeld-Wen currently has a position available for a Quality Control Inspector to assist our team in providing value-added goods and services to our customers.

Requirements

  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours per day
  • Operate in a non-airconditioned manufacturing environment
  • Attentive to details
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of using measuring tools as tape measures, calipers, and depth gauges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in English, conversational and written
  • Computer-literate

Nice To Haves

  • Able to read and interpret drawings
  • Basic knowledge of utilizing an I-Pad

Responsibilities

  • Daily review of production records, quality records, and training records for accuracy
  • Take samples of products at various stages of processing
  • Conduct routine tests for product specifications
  • Perform data entry and record keeping. Regular filing and document management, RMA, CRR, End of Shift, MRB, etc.
  • Verify dimensions of raw materials and finished goods for accuracy and conformance to specifications using measuring instruments
  • Check products and packaging for basic quality defects, verify accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Conduct quality audits and assist in the development of quality management and quality assurance standards
  • Support the production team to identify, contain, and correct quality issues in the production line
  • Reviews RGA Tags for accuracy and records RGAs in the RGA Log
  • Schedule and execute sample testing as required, document findings, and provide the first analysis of the data.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, use a tape measurer, calipers and basic knowledge of utilizing an I-Pad.
  • Coach employees when quality defects are identified.
  • Able to write Standard Operating Procedures and fill out various reports.
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours per day, operate in a non-airconditioned manufacturing environment.
  • Keep the supervisor apprised of all situations that compromise quality and/or deviation from standards.
  • Inform management regarding non-conforming material(s), product(s) or processes.
  • Must be attentive to details, have good communication skills, and knowledge of using measuring tools as tape measures, calipers, and depth gauges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in English, conversational and written.
  • Computer-literate.
