About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector will perform inspections of raw materials, fabrications, and finished products, ensuring compliance with various standards and specifications. This role involves detailed documentation, reporting, and applying technical expertise in areas such as welding and rubber lining.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical-related field or 5 years of quality control experience in metal fabrications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience inspecting fabricated steel and/or rubber-lined products
  • CSA W178.2 Level II Weld Inspector certification
  • CGSB Level 2 MPI/LPI certification or eligibility for certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment
  • AMPP CIP (NACE) level 1 or 2 certification
  • First Aid certification and confined space entry training
  • Experience with SAP and intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat)

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving inspections of raw materials and fabrications from suppliers and subcontractors, including physical goods and quality documents, ensuring acceptance, rejection, or correction as required.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabricated steel and rubber-lined products to verify compliance with drawings, internal standards, customer specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports, signoffs, and logs.
  • Build quality document packages for customer submission and review quality documents for subcontracted fabrications.
  • Generate nonconformance reports as needed.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and regulatory and customer specifications.
  • Apply knowledge of MTRs, NDE, welding codes, and rubber lining specifications.
