Quality Control Inspector
About The Position
Global Power Components is a growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures. Due to company growth, we are seeking a Quality Inspector for day-to-day inspection, documenting quality issues per our process and presenting data in a statistical format. A qualified candidate must be able to interpret Engineering Blueprints as every aspect of inspecting our product relies on the blueprints to ensure accuracy. The Steel Inspector will work under the supervision of the Quality Manager. The majority of time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.
Requirements
- Ability to interpret Engineering Blueprints.
- Prior experience with weld and paint inspection.
- Ability to follow directions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (write reports in Word, create and use spreadsheets in Excel for analysis).
- Basic math skills including fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Possess mechanical ability/aptitude.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience using Pareto Charts.
- Prior experience in quality assurance.
- Engineering Technician experience.
Responsibilities
- Inspection and documentation of parts and assemblies.
- Processing and analysis of data to create reports.
- Developing training and/or process improvement strategies based on data.
- Discussing issues with engineers.
- Calling vendors.
- Updating SOP's.
- Addressing anything that is out of the ordinary or with which there is an issue.
