About The Position

This role involves supporting final and receiving inspection requirements, including visual and dimensional verification of products. The inspector will also back up ballooning/FAIR reporting and documentation during overload situations. Responsibilities include manual setup verification (excluding CMM), repetitive inspection duties like sorting larger sample sizes, and reviewing in-process product on the fabrication floor. The inspector will report out-of-tolerance conditions, assist with investigations, and communicate findings to the shop floor. Additionally, the role involves assisting with gage R&R and Capability activities, performing related tasks as assigned, maintaining a positive attitude, punctuality, and an organized work area. The position requires working in a team environment, identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement, and understanding contributions to the Quality Management System (QMS). Awareness of quality policies, procedures, objectives, product conformance, safety, and ethics is essential.

Requirements

  • Understanding and use of the “hands-on” inspection equipment used for product verification (micrometers, calipers, comparators, height stands, etc.), accuracy (The 10% rule) and repeatability (Margin of error).
  • Has a minimum of 5 years’ experience or equiv in a manufacturing environment performing product verification activities.
  • Good Communication and Reporting Skills.
  • Understands GD&T and the blueprint map, as it relates to product verification activities.
  • Can organize and prioritize job related duties and have the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Support final and receiving inspection requirements such as Visual/Dimensional verification of product.
  • Back up for ballooning/FAIR reporting/documentation support and copulation, as required during overload situations.
  • Manual setup verification activities other than Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • Repetitive inspection duties such as sorting - larger sample sizes.
  • Review of product in-process on the floor during fabrication.
  • Reporting out of tolerance conditions, assist with the investigation activities and communication to the shop floor.
  • Assist with gage R&R and Capability activities, as required.
  • Perform related tasks as assigned by the Director of Quality.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and punctuality.
  • Keep clean and organized work area.
  • Willing to work in a team environment.
  • Identify when applicable, continuous improvement of processes and understand the contribution to the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Aware of quality policies, procedures, objectives, contribution to conformance of product, safety and ethics.
