About The Position

Responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer, engineering, and quality requirements. Supports production by identifying nonconforming material and verifying product quality through the use of inspection equipment and documented procedures. This role involves performing receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections on manufactured products, verifying product conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements. The inspector will also conduct AQL sampling inspections, identify, segregate, and document nonconforming material, and verify the completion and accuracy of production travelers and manufacturing records. Additionally, the role supports containment activities, sorting, and re-inspection of suspect product, performs in-house calibration of measuring and test equipment, follows ISO 9001, customer, and company quality requirements, supports internal and customer audits, assists in root cause investigations and corrective actions, and prepares customer-required First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gages, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment requiring fine hand dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish small details and markings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating manual CMM equipment.
  • Experience performing calibration activities.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
  • Manufacturing inspection experience in a machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-house calibration of measuring and test equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Follow ISO 9001, customer, and company quality requirements.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Apply calibration labels and maintain calibration databases and records.
  • Prepare customer-required First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and supporting documentation.
