JOB SUMMARY  The Temporary Quality Control Inspector will support the Safe Fleet Quality team for a six‑month contract period under the direction of the Quality Control Coordinator. This role is responsible for performing inspections and testing of finished products, components, and repaired items to ensure compliance with established quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of electronics and/or mechanics, strong attention to detail, and the ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment while performing cross‑functional tasks.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Electronics, Quality Assurance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards.
  • Prior experience testing electronic devices and components.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical inspections, including the ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and Bills of Material.
  • Familiarity with Engineering document control or PLM systems.
  • Hands-on experience using inspection and testing tools such as multimeters, power supplies, and calipers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with good organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well organized.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with video surveillance equipment is considered an asset.
  • Experience creating or maintaining inspection procedures and quality documentation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing of cameras, video recorders, cables, and related components in accordance with standard Quality Control (QC) inspection procedures.
  • Verify firmware versions of electronic devices per Engineering instructions and documentation.
  • Inspect metal and mechanical parts in accordance with QC procedures, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Engineering drawings.
  • Ensure products are accurately identified and labeled with the appropriate status throughout the inspection process.
  • Record product non‑conformances in the company’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or document control system.
  • Handle and document discrepant material in accordance with established non‑conformance procedures.
  • Complete all required quality records; update databases and maintain organized filing systems.
  • Inspect repaired products and determine appropriate disposition based on inspection results.
  • Conduct regular audits of ‘quarantine’ inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform in‑process inspections as required to support production and quality objectives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sustainable 5S work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Quality and Operations during the contract period.
