About The Position
Clendenin Lumber Co. is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for its kiln-dried lumber operation in Donald's, South Carolina. The role inspects hardwood lumber according to NHLA grading standards and proprietary customer requirements, and releases products that meet industry and customer expectations. Training is provided in-house. The inspector works with a team of three to four lumber inspectors and may assist with downstream packaging, production setup, and yard projects.
Requirements
- Previous experience in production quality inspection.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication skills and familiarity with a team-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Learn general and species-specific aspects of inspecting hardwood lumber.
- Work with a team of three to four lumber inspectors.
- Conduct live production audits and record quality findings.
- Stop production activities when products do not meet industry or customer specifications.
- Follow plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with downstream packaging requirements.
- Assist with production setup procedures.
- Assist with yard projects as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
