Quality Control Inspector I
About The Position
The QC Inspector I ensures product quality and safety in manufacturing or distribution environments by inspecting materials, components, and finished products against established standards. The role conducts visual and measurement tests, documents findings, reports defects or discrepancies, and works with production or distribution teams to identify and resolve quality issues and improve processes. This position works a 12-hour shift from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Duties include inspecting incoming materials, in-process items, and finished products; using measurement tools and equipment; assessing and repackaging inbound damaged finished goods; and supporting inventory checks, recall verifications, deviations, relabeling, product rework, pedigree verification, and other assigned projects. The inspector may operate powered material handling equipment and must follow SOPs, quality systems, OSHA guidelines, and company rules.
Requirements
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- No prior work experience is required.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Attention to detail.
- Vision abilities including close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and fractional-to-decimal conversions.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for prolonged periods, with frequent twisting and bending.
- Ability to wear PPE or company-issued gowns for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to prioritize quickly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to process relevant details, understand and prioritize their importance, and draw concise conclusions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to apply basic knowledge of quality regulations such as GMP, GDP, ISO, or 21 CFR 820 and 210–211.

Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process items, and/or finished products, and document results accurately.
- Use measurement tools and equipment to verify product dimensions and specifications.
- Identify and report defects, deviations, and non-conformities.
- Work with production or distribution teams to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, or determine product disposition.
- Assist with developing and implementing quality control procedures and standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Assess inbound damaged finished goods and repackage them.
- Support inventory stock checks, recall stock verifications, deviation handling, relabeling, product rework, pedigree verification, and other assigned projects.
- Operate powered material handling equipment when required.
- Read and interpret instructions, blueprints, and other documents.
- Comply with Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Systems, OSHA guidelines, and company rules and regulations.
