Purpose: We are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Inspector I. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a part-time position based in Markham, Ontario. The Site Quality Inspector provides field‑based Quality Assurance support during construction, with a strong focus on site presence, field inspections, and working directly with contractor QC teams to ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved requirements. The role supports the delivery of construction quality in the field through regular site surveillance, verification of work against approved ITPs, early identification of quality issues, and confirmation that work is complete and acceptable before it is closed out. The position plays a key role in supporting progressive system mechanical completion.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years industrial construction experience.
  • Strong background in mechanical, piping, or E&I, with multi‑discipline field exposure.
  • Familiar with ITPs, NCRs, construction turnover, and system completion.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular site presence during active construction.
  • Perform field inspections and surveillance of civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation activities.
  • Verify work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and ITPs.
  • Witness selected hold and witness points as defined by the QA plan.
  • Identify quality issues early and work with contractor QC to address them before work is closed or covered.
  • Work directly with contractor QC teams to support consistent application of quality requirements.
  • Verify that inspections and tests are being performed as planned.
  • Raise and escalate quality concerns when workmanship or process deficiencies are observed.
  • Support review of NCRs and corrective actions.
  • Verify corrective actions have been implemented effectively in the field.
  • Identify recurring issues and quality trends.
  • Review ITRs, test packs, and quality documentation for completeness and alignment with field conditions.
  • Support progressive system walkdowns.
  • Support readiness activities for Mechanical Completion, RFO, and PSSR.
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections as required.
  • Maintain clear field observation and QA records.
