Requirements

  • Must have graduated from a military aviation technical school or possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • Associates degree from technical college and/or 5 years’ job-related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • The Quality Control Inspector must possess knowledge and experience in quality control, safety and environmental issues involving UH-1N, AW-139/MH-139 helicopter maintenance.
  • Five years’ experience (3 years within the last 5 years) of military system experience on rotary wing aircraft including avionics/electronics, engines, gearbox systems, blades and rotors.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft and engine maintenance procedures, technical publications, special tools, ground support equipment, and safety procedures required.
  • Working knowledge of IMDS
  • Working knowledge of AS 9110 or ISO 9001:2008 Quality Support and Safety Programs required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects maintenance processes, procedures, and condition of equipment for assigned aircraft and support equipment in accordance with the Quality Control Plan and the PWS.
  • Conducts personnel evaluations and task certifications.
  • Ensures documentation and historical records are maintained properly.
  • Conducts work center management evaluations.
  • Coordinates activities with the Site Quality Supervisor.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections to determine the condition of assigned equipment and proficiency of maintenance personnel as outlined in the Quality Control Plan.
  • Participates in other Quality Control programs in accordance with the Quality Control Plan.
  • Provides technical advice and assistance to maintenance personnel and others.
  • Conducts Certification/Re-certification training programs.
  • Assists with supply/technical issues.
  • Maintains surveillance over operations and activities to detect areas of accident or injury potential, unsafe acts or conditions, and takes immediate actions to correct unsatisfactory situations.
  • Identifies potential problem areas and suggests solutions.
  • Investigates identified problem areas as directed by Management.
  • May perform classroom training on forms documentation, training programs products, and other training related to the maintenance effort as required.
  • May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections.
  • Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Maintains hangar and grounds IAW Company and PWS requirements to include snow and weed removal.
  • Performs basic helicopter ground handling procedures such as towing, jacking, refuel/defuel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
