Quality Control (QC) Floor Inspector
About The Position
NC Custom, a division of Nassau Candy, is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Floor Inspector for its promotional products manufacturing location in Ronkonkoma, New York. The role supports product quality, sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The position offers a guaranteed 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime opportunities. Weekend work may be required to meet production demands. The posting lists an hourly salary range of $18.00 to $20.00 based on experience; a separate benefits section also mentions competitive hourly pay of $17 per hour.
Requirements
- Knowledge of SQF Systems, HACCP, and CCP Monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and disciplined, with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic and busy work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Willingness to work weekends as needed to meet production demands.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
- Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting; experience is preferred but not required, and training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Visually monitor the facility for unsafe conditions or hazards and communicate findings.
- Inspect and audit products to determine whether they conform to company and regulatory specifications.
- Conduct investigations by responding to emails and obtaining sample retentions.
- Ensure 100% compliance with company GMPs.
- Help maintain the highest levels of sanitation.
- Provide ongoing floor training and communicate with personnel about quality, sanitation, food safety, quality control, food defense, and GMP compliance protocols.
- Communicate issues and follow up with appropriate parties to ensure they are addressed and corrected.
- Promote and enforce a safe and sanitary work environment.
