About The Position

This is a Body quality control engineering position where the individual will study and understand car body parts and processes to enhance body quality while meeting internal and external customer requirements. The role involves inspecting incoming/raw materials and assemblies, investigating and analyzing defective products, and developing countermeasures. The specialist will establish short-term/long-term measures for smooth production, collaborate with HMC visitors for quality improvement during new project development, and enhance suppliers' quality levels through audits and product reviews. The position also includes participating in or leading BIW audits, managing assigned products, and improving the efficiency of the quality control management system by applying new technology and knowledge. Ensuring the adequacy of relevant procedures and systems according to specifications and legal requirements, and meeting other assigned requirements are also key aspects of this role. HMGMA (Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America) is Hyundai Motor Group's first dedicated EV mass-production plant, utilizing innovative, cutting-edge production technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Concern for Quality: Demonstrate effort to minimize job performance errors; maintain optimal quality through quick revision and immediate corrections
  • Prompt Judgement and Action: Use prompt judgments and actions based on professionalism and experiences to find concrete and clear solutions
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement
  • Monitoring & Feedback: Efficiently execute tasks and maintain quality by continuously monitoring processes and parts; provide immediate feedback with alternative options as necessary
  • Strong command of the English language (written and spoken) is essential for safety, communication, documentation, and collaboration across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming/raw materials and assemblies to make quality decisions.
  • Investigate and analyze defective products and develop countermeasures.
  • Establish short-term/long-term measures to ensure smooth production.
  • Collaborate with HMC visitors for quality improvement during the new project development stage.
  • Enhance suppliers’ quality level by conducting Supplier Process Audit (SPA) and reviewing their products, tools, and systems periodically.
  • Participate/lead BIW audit sharing inspection results with suppliers and HMGMA engineers to request and discuss improvement plans.
  • Manage assigned products to meet internal/external customer requirements.
  • Improve efficiency of quality control management system by learning and applying new technology, knowledge, and equipment.
  • Ensure the adequacy of relevant procedures and systems in accordance to specification and applicable legal requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.
