This role is responsible for the quality control of completed vehicles at the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC). The specialist will report to the Assistant Manager of Quality Control and support planned team activities. Key responsibilities include maintaining quality test equipment, supporting the in-line team with recommended actions, and driving quality improvement through coordination, monitoring, and performing specialized technical processes related to completed vehicle inspection. The role also involves facilitating and leading improvements for First Time Through (FTT) concerns, repetitive concerns, and field issues. The specialist will recommend actions and drive quality improvement by collecting, analyzing, and reporting on quality and equipment issues. They will analyze internal and external quality indicators to determine quality trends and drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, and Productivity metrics. Research and investigation of quality issues to determine root cause are also key functions. The role includes managing the execution of HMGMA process and vehicle evaluation activities, executing and implementing quality inspection and improvement activities for mass-produced vehicles, and conducting activities to identify new vehicle projects. Analysis of completed vehicles ensures high quality and conformity to international standards. The specialist will lead team activities, including inspection card specification, format, and equipment. They will maintain inspection cards/systems and equipment like printers and scanners. Activities focus on establishing/improving inspection methods and preventing leakage/flow out post-processes. The role involves leading the development of inspection standards and criteria for Line Inspection, utilizing Quality Index Reports for shop-specific process audits, and assessing shop quality levels, strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Coordination of In-line Process evaluation activities ensures a sound and secure inspection system for defect-free vehicles. Process workstation evaluation validates Production/inspection activities for safety and critical checkpoints. Improvement activities include leading the analysis of vehicle problem causes, improvement activities with shop teams, audits, and quality meetings. Analysis of inspection data and findings, communication of findings, and driving problem resolution and improvement in new and current models are essential. The specialist will facilitate, recommend actions, and drive improvement through quality and production departments for completed vehicle quality and continuous improvement. Facility and equipment management, investment cost execution/management, and supplementary investment establishment are also part of the role. External tasks include preparation, consultation, and coordination of external events. Participation in new vehicle projects involves preparation for inspection, establishment of quality securing plans, and response to evaluations. Validation of Pilot build quality and auditing/validating new model critical customer quality concerns are also required. Other duties include overseeing and managing ongoing systems and operations, monitoring performance, analyzing the effectiveness of processes and quality management systems, and generating reports on troubleshooting. The role also requires meeting all other assigned requirements.
