The Quality Control Engineer will execute the manufacturing specific Quality Control (QC) Plan, ensuring scopes of work and work procedures align with the Manufacturing Safety Plan and engage all project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to achieve contract requirements. This role involves developing a comprehensive understanding of contract documents, including xPL contract, plans, specifications, and applicable codes. The engineer will assist the project team in developing the Definable Features of Work (DFOW) Log, and facilitate pre-installation meetings to communicate scope expectations. Responsibilities include performing material delivery inspections, First Work In Place (WIP) or First of a Kind (FOAK) observations, and daily quality follow-up inspections within the manufacturing facility. The role also involves arranging and analyzing third-party testing and inspections, reviewing submittals, tracking issues, and monitoring engineering procedures within budgetary guidelines. Establishing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders is crucial for delivering a compliant project. The engineer will coordinate QC procedures with the manufacturing execution plan and schedule, continually improve documentation and tracking strategies, and research additional QC and lean procedures. The position ensures completion of project closeout and quality reports, and performs other assigned duties.
