About The Position

This position is based in Mansonville, located in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada. Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the Quality Control Director is responsible for the efficient operation of the laboratory (quality control) as well as the management of its personnel.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role
Bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry or related field)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication and leadership skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Problem-solving abilities
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills

Bilingualism (French and English) considered an asset; role involves approximately 75% French and 25% English due to communication needs with colleagues

Responsibilities

Ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory (ordering supplies, supplier communications, departmental meetings).
Manage laboratory staff.
Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Ensure all tasks are performed safely by the team.
Ensure pilot plant tasks are carried out and completed.
Train team members and monitor their progress.
Ensure finished products are released to the market according to established specifications.
Ensure incoming raw materials are approved according to established specifications.
Manage non-conforming raw materials and finished products.
Participate in the development of new product specifications.
Collaborate with other departments on multidisciplinary improvement projects.
Support new projects or requests from the Product Development Director.
