About The Position

The Quality Control Chemist will prepare and analyze samples from manufacturing and handling processes using qualitative and quantitative techniques to determine compliance with established standards and specifications. This role requires a thorough understanding of chemical testing equipment and laboratory processes, with the ability to apply a variety of analytical methods during routine laboratory work. The chemist will generate accurate documentation and reports, manage laboratory record-keeping systems, and support workplace safety by following proper chemical handling procedures. This position involves managing multiple projects, adhering to safety policies, collecting and testing raw materials, monitoring laboratory systems for GLP compliance, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the role includes preparing Certificates of Analysis, packaging and shipping samples, reviewing colleague's work, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Basic troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory equipment are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Laboratory Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Required experience with wet chemistry techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in all work performed.
  • Ability to accurately record, document, and maintain clear laboratory records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot effectively, and communicate findings clearly to management.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of experience in an analytical or quality control laboratory preferred.
  • Preferred experience with analytical instrumentation, including Particle Analyzer, XRF, ICP-OES, and HPLC.
  • Flexibility to adapt working schedule to production and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of chemical testing equipment and laboratory processes, with the ability to apply a variety of analytical methods during routine laboratory work.
  • Generate accurate documentation and reports that communicate laboratory results and product specifications to internal teams and customers.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory record-keeping systems to ensure data integrity and traceability.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting and basic repairs of laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Support workplace safety by following proper chemical handling procedures and maintaining a safe laboratory environment while working with hazardous materials.
  • Manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, consistently working safely and efficiently.
  • Collect, label, and handle samples from production and storage areas in accordance with established protocols.
  • Perform raw material testing to support product release, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
  • Monitor laboratory systems and equipment to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes, efficiency, and data quality.
  • Accurately record, analyze, interpret, and report laboratory data in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as required.
  • Prepare, package, and ship chemicals and product samples (up to 5 gallons) in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Review and verify work performed by colleagues, as needed, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and analytical personnel.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on laboratory equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Calibrate analytical instruments and perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Contribute to special projects and departmental initiatives to support overall business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
