Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related field
  • 0 – 2 years’ experience in related discipline
  • Proficient analytical and organoleptic skills
  • Proficient oral/written/electronic communication skills
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation including: spectrophotometry, density meter, refractometer, titration systems, particle size analyzer, turbidity meter, FT-NIR, GC
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Investigative Competency: Generate data required to support non-conformance investigations
  • Analytical Competency: Either have or be capable of learning the prerequisite analytical skills (including GC)
  • Micro Competency: Either have or be capable of learning the prerequisite micro knowledge
  • Sensory Competency: Have the ability to discriminate, be capable of learning how to describe flavors.
  • Sensory Best Practices: Be capable of understanding and adhering to Quality’s sensory best practice program.
  • Systems Competencies: Be capable of accurately accessing and correctly using company systems (ProductVision, Oracle, EtQ, BatchMetrics)
  • Specification Competencies: Be capable of accessing and correctly interpreting specifications.
  • QA Program Competencies: Be capable of properly executing against company Quality SOP’s, including but not limited to non-conformances and internal audits. Be capable of accurately and professionally writing standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety rules and guidelines, report all potential issues. Comply with the chemical hygiene plan. Actively participate in all departmental and company safety meetings, training sessions and activities.
  • Performs sample testing for production and internal labs using organoleptic, physical, and chemical analysis
  • Performs performance check and/or calibration of instrumentation
  • Creates specifications and records results in system software
  • Initiates supplier correction action report for non-conforming raw materials
  • Troubleshoots non-conforming batches including performing remedial action and electronic documentation
  • Signs HACCP records and verifies integrity of CCP control device
  • Commitment to Robertet and SQF Safety and Quality Standards and continuous improvement of the quality management systems.
