About The Position

The Quality Inspector position follows basic measurement techniques using gages, equipment and experience to analyze and report on materials, processes and product to ensure they meet internal and external quality standards. Quality Inspectors test products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met. They are required to read/understand specifications and drawings, making recommendations for adjustments to assembly and production processes, determining whether to accept or reject items, inspect and test materials and products, and accurately report inspection results.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 1 year minimum job related experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience using mechanical and electrical instruments (caliper, multi-meter, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) Techniques.
  • Literacy in computer operating systems and applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • MUST be able to use micrometers or calipers

  • Millwrights are good fits even without QA experience as they use the measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates and promotes a positive work environment.
  • Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Performs visual inspections on in-process and completed assemblies and determines compliance to established procedures and engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, tape measures and other related mechanical inspection tools.
  • Also demonstrates the ability to use electrical test equipment such as Multi-meters, Hi-pot and Meg testers.
  • Documents results of visual inspections and electrical/mechanical inspections in accordance with established Quality Program Plan.
  • Maintains quality records and files in accordance with established Quality Program Plan.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Participates in training, safety, and quality programs.
  • Enforces DCX-CHOL Enterprises policies and safety practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
