The Program Analyst will report to 3rd shift Inspection Supervisors, General Foreman, and Manager as required, to assure that inspection operations are carefully planned, that affected personnel are properly notified/briefed, and the minimum impact on ship's schedules is maintained. Candidate will be responsible for developing work packages with all applicable documentation for inspection evolutions (surveys, OPCON inspections, NDT inspections etc.) in the Groton shipyard. This is a 3rd shift position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years shipyard experience supporting inspection, quality, or NDT
  • Must have experience reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications and procedures
  • Experience working with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to resolve documentation problems
  • Must possess independent thinking and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to brief all levels of the chain of command up to the Vice President level when required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Quality inspection procedures and applicable SSPs is preferred.
  • Knowledge of EB's inspection activities and certification procedures
  • Previous experience with a variety of NDT (MT, PT, RT, UT) and inspection documentation (SWSS/ERS weld tickets, CPJ 905 cards, RUT's, TIR's, rip outs, etc…) is highly desirable
  • Experience with EB's electronic business systems (MQS, ERS, CPJ, Cornerstone, MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Develop work packages that will allow for timely conduct of required inspections, which in some cases will include a deck-plate review of the work site to ensure all pertinent aspects of the inspection, are addressed prior to the assignment of work (staging, lighting, electricity, tank watch, etc.).
  • Collect inspection performance data, including data on re-inspection and rework, from the end of shift inspection logs to help identify and break down road blocks that impair successful execution of inspections and nondestructive tests.
  • The individual selected for this role must qualify to perform NDT oversights.
