About The Position

The Quality Certification Specialist verifies compliance of all incoming raw materials against engineering specifications and industry standards. This role manages end-to-end documentation integrity, approving incoming raw material certifications, compiling and auditing Material Certification Packages for outgoing finished products, and overseeing calibration programs while providing cross-functional technical support.

Requirements

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
2–5 years in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance role reading/auditing MTRs/CoAs, with experience supporting engineering, estimation, or calibration functions.
Strong understanding of engineering prints, technical drawings, metallurgy, chemical/mechanical material testing standards (ASTM, ASME, EN), and calibration standards.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, Epicor) and advanced MS Office/Excel skills.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering and estimation teams during quote and planning stages to review customer quality requirements, material specifications, and testing criteria.
Review incoming Mill Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Analysis (CoA), and Certificates of Conformance (CoC) against material specifications (ASTM, ASME, ISO, customer drawings, Purchase Orders).
Verify heat/lot numbers, chemical compositions, mechanical properties, and non-destructive testing (NDT) results against standard tolerances; issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and collaborate with procurement to resolve vendor discrepancies.
Assemble comprehensive finished-product quality compliance packages for customers, perform final documentation audits for complete material traceability, and manage digital certification data within ERP/QMS software.
Oversee calibration programs, maintenance intervals, and data collection tools for precision shop measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMMs, gages), while coordinating external vendor calibrations.
Serve as the primary contact for material traceability, certification requests, and equipment calibration records during internal and customer audits (ISO 9001, AS9100).
