About The Position

The Quality Auditor is responsible for facilitating various quality activities which includes but is not limited to auditing, identifying defects, gauging product to meet customer requirements, facilitating containment, communicating with affected parties, training team members on part specific requirements, monitoring defect rates on in-process and finished production units and assisting with the Problem-Solving process. The role also involves complying with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs, performing duties in compliance with quality, safety, and manufacturing requirements, exhibiting company core values, and participating in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

Experience using inspection and gauging equipment (calipers, micrometers, snap gauges and pin gauges).
Knowledge of parts and manufacturing process including work and inspection instructions.
Knowledge of basic computers.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of basic math, reading, and writing.
Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
Ability to continuously and repetitively walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections.
Ability to promptly detect and respond to visual and auditory safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, long-sleeves, and steel-toed safety shoes.
Ability to use hand positioning to grip/grasp devices such as gauges, calipers, measuring devices, and a wide range of power and vibrating tools or other equipment.
Ability to frequently and repetitively bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, and reach to perform work.
Ability to lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds and periodically care or lift materials weighing up to 35lbs.
Ability to ascend and descend steps, stairs, and platforms.
Ability to sit (10% or less).
Recognizes potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and explosive hazards.

Responsibilities

Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures to perform any audit of cast/trim/secondary operations for quality standards.
Communicates quality issues and concerns to process techs, operators, cell leaders and managers.
Maintains inspection records and reports.
Performs and properly documents 1st piece and end of run inspection.
Assist in containing non-conforming material including issuing of quality alerts and hold tickets.
Train production associates on quality standards and process changes as applicable.
Perform gage calibration, layouts, process alerts and assisting in gauge R & R, break test, CMM operator.
Complete tasks and targeted production goals on a daily basis to meet production standards.
Accurately enter data into production software and quality systems.
Prompt and effective follow up on issues, assigned tasks, improper or faulty equipment to proper supervisor.
Learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes as required by business and manpower demands.
Work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
Maintain clean and orderly work area consistent with safety, 5-S, and work rules and regulations.
Work overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises.
Regularly report for work on time with a desire to perform to the best of your abilities.
Perform Job Specific Training Form duties if available.
Other duties are assigned from time-to-time.
Ability to work in other classifications or departments as needed.
Communicate with associates and between shifts on daily activities.
