About The Position

The Quality Auditor is responsible for conducting in-process and final product audits, providing support to Manufacturing for quality issues, and performing weld tests. This role ensures compliance with procedures and work instructions, manages non-conforming material, and assists with gauge calibration and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two years in manufacturing.
Basic SPC knowledge.
Able to use basic measurement equipment (calipers, mics., etc.).
Good math skills.
Good organization skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated.

Responsibilities

Conduct in-process and final product process and product audits.
Provide support to Manufacturing in regards to quality issues.
Conduct weld tests.
Ensure completion of in-process and final inspections per applicable procedures and work instructions.
Ensure compliance to stated process controls.
Make educated decisions regarding corrected processes for quality issues in the absence of a Quality Engineer.
Verify in-process inspection data integrity and maintain records.
Audit inspection data completeness.
Review control charts for completeness and identification of possible concerns.
Assist production associates with inspection methods or interpretation of acceptance criteria.
Complete daily torque verification audits.
Complete daily collapse / load testing.
Ensure required gauging is in place and being utilized.
Assist manufacturing with containment activities.
Assist in problem solving activities.
Complete daily and monthly layered audits.
Perform Final audits for assigned areas at required frequencies.
Review final inspection data for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure containment actions are carried out when audit failures occur.
Review Lot control sheets for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure appropriate part identification and inspection status are present before release of product.
Complete Poka Yoke verifications per established schedules.
Verify manufacturing associates have completed required Poka Yoke verifications.
Assist Manufacturing with containment and/or corrective action activities resulting from Poka Yoke concerns / failures.
Perform defect verification.
Manage containment and notification to internal departments for non-conforming material.
Issue NCMT at plant and warehouse.
Monitor rework / salvage activities and inspect as required.
Verify weld penetration per applicable procedures and work instructions.
Verify weld tensile strength per applicable procedures and work instructions.
Maintain records for weld testing, including control charts for critical welds.
Ensure containment and corrective action for weld test failures.
Assist Quality Technicians with Gage Calibration activities where qualified.
Assist in Gage R&R studies as requested.
Randomly review gages on plant floor for damage or needed maintenance.
Provide copies of current Inspection Data Sheets to Responsible Facilitators each week.
Assist in part Layout and Process/Product capability studies as assigned.
Participate on problem solving/continuous improvement teams as assigned.
Review of 5S implementation / maintenance during normal daily activities.
Record significant events in Quality Auditor Daily Activity Log.
Verify control documents for accuracy and revision level on production floor.
Perform CAR verification audits for implementation and completion of documents.
Perform receiving inspection and maintain necessary documents.
Other duties as assigned.
