About The Position

This position assists in monitoring the overall operation and reports to the QA Manager all repair station activities that may have an impact on the safety of the repair station. The role involves monitoring industry safety concerns (FAA, OSHA, etc.) that may impact North State’s operations. The Quality Auditor performs daily audits of work orders for completeness and accuracy, as well as internal company audits to ensure conformance with company policies and procedures, including the SMS Program and NDT Lab. They may also perform audits of vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with established guidelines and FAR or customer requirements. Additionally, the role involves bi-annual audits of training files for all employees performing maintenance functions on aircraft or components, assisting in the development of training programs, and making recommendations for policy and procedure changes based on FAA regulations and SMSC recommendations. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Six months experience in a Quality position
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Microsoft Office
  • Background in aviation
  • Physical: While performing audits while on an aircraft, employees must be able to balance, bend, stoop, crawl, climb, climb stairs, crouch, grasp, kneel, push, reach above shoulder, use repetitive motion, sit on average 2-4 hours per day, walk on average 4-6 hours per day, possess the ability to see and follow precise instructions, documents, diagrams, or blueprints, to distinguish color differences, to see and read information via computer screen or other electronic device, to detect distinct, specific noises, to hear if equipment/tools, etc. are operating properly, to hear and understand precise directions, to hear and understand what others are saying in normal conversation.
  • Mental: While performing audits, employees must be able to understand, remember, and apply complex oral and/or written instructions or other information, to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology or data, to make decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside immediate work unit.
  • Communication: While performing audits, employees must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to understand and follow complex instructions and guidelines, to complete complex forms, documents or reports, and/or conduct complex oral communication with others, to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, loudly, and quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in monitoring the overall operation and reports to QA Manager all repair station activities that may have an impact on safety of the repair station.
  • Monitor available industry (FAA, OSHA, etc.) safety concerns that may have an impact on North State’s operations.
  • Performs daily audits of work orders for completeness and accuracy.
  • Performs internal company audits to assure conformance with company policies and procedures to included SMS Program and NDT Lab.
  • When requested, performs audits of vendors and subcontractors to ensure that products or services provided are within established guidelines and meet any applicable FAR or customer requirements.
  • Bi-annually audits training files on all company and contract employees that perform maintenance functions on aircraft or components to ensure required training has been accomplished.
  • Assist in the development of training programs as required by the North State RS/QCM and Training Manual.
  • Recommends and assists with changes to the maintenance training programs based upon SMSC recommendations.
  • Makes recommendations on policy and procedure changes based upon new or revised FAA regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
