About The Position

The Quality Auditor I is responsible for protecting our customers and the Fiberon brand by ensuring that only compliant materials enter and leave the manufacturing process. This position performs in-process and finished product inspections; conducts testing and audits; maintains quality records; and participates in continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Auditor I works closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure products meet all specifications and quality requirements while driving customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Basic metrology and measurement equipment knowledge.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Reasonable interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work as a team member with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to distinguish shades of color and patterns accurately.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must pass the Quality Skills test.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, walk and lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout a 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to operate table saw, miter saw, drill press and planer.
  • Ability to wear required PPE as safety glasses, hearing protection, bump cap, high-vis clothing, steel-toe or composite footwear, and other required safety equipment.
  • Ability to read printed data from reports, as well as computer screen.
  • Ability to Enter data into quality databases and reporting systems.
  • Must be able to communicate easily by phone and email.
  • Must be able to see different shades of color and patterns.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems preferred.
  • Previous quality inspection, testing, or auditing experience preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and finished product inspections to verify compliance with specifications, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Obtain, prepare, and test samples according to established sampling plans and testing requirements, including sample preparation using equipment such as miter saws, table saws, drill presses, and planers.
  • Conduct routine quality testing, audits, and verification activities, accurately documenting and communicating results to appropriate personnel.
  • Operate measurement and testing equipment to assess product performance and conformity.
  • Identify, document, contain, and support disposition of nonconforming materials and products.
  • Maintain accurate test records, inspection results, and quality data within required databases.
  • Support manufacturing operations by monitoring product quality and providing timely feedback on quality concerns and trends.
  • Support incoming material inspections and other quality-related activities as required.
  • Must work overtime, holidays and weekends as scheduled.
