About The Position

The Corporate Quality Assurance Trainee will be responsible for overseeing, assisting, and supporting the Prairie Farms Dairy Quality and Food Safety Program at a corporate level, as well as assisting and supporting the plants under their assigned purview. This role involves routine travel to manufacturing locations to ensure adherence to food safety and quality programs, collaborating with plant management to resolve quality issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of quality and food safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Along with being able to work with formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security and compliance issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be able to work well with and direct others in the completion of tasks essential to the performance of top-quality work and cleaning procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently and with others.
  • Must have good telephone skills and be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to follow and disseminate both written and verbal instructions.
  • Shall have attended GMP, Food Defense Awareness, Allergen Training and all other required Alchemy training modules.
  • Shall meet all requirements of the SQF program.
  • Shall meet all requirements of the FSMA Preventive Controls Program, including obtaining PCQI training and intentional adulteration training.
  • Shall comply with all GMP requirements.
  • Shall comply with all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment as defined by appropriate plant procedures.
  • Shall comply with all Safety Rules and Policies as defined by appropriate plant procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, quality, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to 6-8 manufacturing locations where you will oversee the Food Safety and Quality Programs routinely. Attempting to visit each plant quarterly at a minimum.
  • Work very closely with the QA managers and other top management, at assigned plants, to develop a relationship to create a working relationship for common goals.
  • Assist in resolving quality issues at your site locations.
  • Provide training at plants as qualified to do so and as requested by plant management.
  • Conduct Internal Audits of plants you oversee, as well as other plants as assigned by the Internal Audit Schedule.
  • Attend SQF Certification Audits.
  • Attend FDA check ratings at your location.
  • Attend State Regulatory Inspections at your locations, as requested by plant management.
  • Attend Customer audits as requested by the plant or as needed for support for a particular situation.
  • Observe sanitation practices at assigned plants.
  • Assist in presenting group training put on by the Corporate QA team.
  • Work with other members of the Corporate QA team to update and improve current quality and food safety programs.
  • Review service reports and chemical cost for your locations and respond regarding your location’s chemical usage at the Ecolab annual review.
