About The Position

As a QA Tester, your duties and responsibilities may include assisting a specialized team for specific content, creating test plans, compiling bugs for reports, or testing specific features independently. You will review documentation from Devs and provide feedback, as well as knowledge transfer to other teams. You will communicate status to PD/Dev teams and Management, and work with a cross-functional team that spans multiple organizations and locations. You will also be responsible for triaging and regressing bugs and helping triage bugs entered by an outsource QA team.

Requirements

  • Strong familiarity with PC MMO products and/or Third Person Shooters
  • Familiarity with Console testing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with little direction or supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to multi-task and work successfully under tight deadlines
  • Computer proficiency, especially in relation to video games
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Interested in and comfortable with MMO gaming
  • Working knowledge of Jira or comparable defect management software
  • Troubleshooting complex game systems
  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 2+ years of experience with software QA testing, preferably PC MMO or FPS QA testing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working with others from cross functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Console experience is also a plus
  • Note a mix of ISTQB and other Certifications coupled with relevant experience may be substituted/considered

Responsibilities

  • Assisting navigating a specialized team for specific content

  • Using established methods, test games for ease of use, reliability, consistency, and ensure absence of defects
  • Create and execute functionality test plans and checklists
  • Log and regress all defects found during testing into the appropriate defect tracking software
  • Provide clear and detailed written reports of bugs and repro steps to the development team
  • Bring serious defects to the attention of QA Leadership and/or PD
  • Work on multiple, complex tasks at the same time and be accountable for completion
  • Review documentation, provide feedback and edits where appropriate
  • Investigate defects fully when given little data
  • Help the Manager/Lead monitor Outsource resources and identify gaps
  • Main point of contact for all QA issues relating to assigned project(s)
