About The Position

Frank Brunckhorst Co., LLC is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to monitor their Distribution Center for regulatory and customer compliance. This role involves providing guidance on quality concerns, following up on inventory and customer-related quality issues, and completing special projects. The technician will analyze product returns and inventory to identify quality trends and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Diploma.
  • At least Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressive work experience.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • Excellent oral/written skills at a technical and general level.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within both a manufacturing and corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • General math skills.
  • Ability to read and analyze process charts, graphs, and logs.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis.
  • Sharpened analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Driver's License.
  • Must be Serve Safe Certified or able to attend a course and successfully pass certification exam.
  • Must be Certified by NYC Health Dept. for Food Handling or able to attend and successfully complete a training course.
  • Ability to lift overhead up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in both warm and cold environments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and be capable of withstanding loud noises, fast-moving machinery, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional specialized training in a food environment product quality.
  • Bilingual.
  • Preferably HACCP trained or be able to attend a training course and successfully complete a training course.
  • Preferably Certified as a QA Technician or able to successfully complete a course by certifying body (i.e., ASQ, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of the distribution center and communicate potential food safety/food quality and sanitation issues to the QA Manager and Department Managers.
  • Prepare the Executive Kitchen for all Product Sensory Evaluations.
  • Ensure correct products are ordered/picked for Product Slicing in NY & SAR; coordinate weekly shipping of product to SAR.
  • Conduct daily Purveyor Truck Audits and communicate non-conformances to Operations Management/QA Manager.
  • Monitor product concerns reported and perform AQL, local concerns reported, upload records, etc.
  • Perform daily audits on the receiving process, including completion of receiving records, product and trailer conditions, product temperature, and barcode scanability.
  • Verify facility records, such as Cooler records and Scale Verification records, are accurately completed and up to date.
  • Coordinate the communication process for product holds and releases.
  • Perform sanitation inspections of warehouse and deli areas for cleanliness.
  • Prepare reports on inspection findings and incidents.
  • Collect, evaluate, and ship samples to outside labs for product analysis.
  • Communicate with Distribution Centers/Plants on Quality and Customer issues.
  • Review and process Purveyor credits and communicate trends as necessary to the QA Manager.
  • Complete any additional assigned duties requested by department management.
  • Assist with training personnel in correct safety and cleaning methods in the deli.
  • Assist with training personnel in the visual inspection of BH Products.
  • Perform effective organoleptic evaluations, including visual (acuity and color differentiation), olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and auditory ability.

  • Compensation Based on experience, rate per hour $19.58 - $29.36
