The Quality Assurance Technician is accountable for supporting the quality assurance activities that help maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System. This position supports audits, corrective actions, documentation, data collection, production readiness, and process improvement activities across assembly, machining, press brake/forming, welding, finishing, and final assembly operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate, associate degree, or coursework in quality, manufacturing, engineering technology, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, inspection, assembly, machining, fabrication, press brake/forming, or related production environment.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, travelers, work instructions, inspection records, and basic manufacturing specifications.
  • Working knowledge of basic inspection tools and quality concepts, including nonconforming material, corrective action, root cause, process audits, and documentation control.
  • Strong attention to detail, good written communication, and the ability to organize information clearly for engineering and management review.
  • Interest and aptitude to develop into a Quality Engineer role through hands-on quality system, process improvement, and problem-solving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the practical application and improvement of the Quality Management System through process audits, documentation reviews, data collection, corrective action support, and quality assurance follow-up activities.
  • Assist Quality Engineers and the Quality Manager with root cause analysis, corrective action investigations, containment verification, effectiveness checks, and documentation of quality issues.
  • Collect, organize, and summarize quality data related to nonconformances, rework, scrap, customer returns, supplier issues, audit findings, and production quality trends.
  • Support NPI and production readiness activities by helping review drawings, travelers, inspection needs, documentation requirements, and initial production build results.
  • Assist in developing, revising, and maintaining quality forms, inspection check sheets, work instructions, visual standards, quality alerts, and process documentation.
  • Conduct process audits and layered quality checks across assembly, machining, press brake/forming, welding, finishing, and final assembly areas to verify adherence to documented requirements.
  • Support nonconforming material processes by gathering evidence, photos, measurements, inspection records, and production information needed for review and disposition.
  • Verify implementation of corrective actions, updated work instructions, inspection checkpoints, and process changes on the production floor.
  • Assist with calibration records, gage tracking, inspection equipment checks, and documentation needed to maintain reliable measurement practices.
  • Support supplier quality follow-up by documenting supplier-related issues, organizing supporting evidence, and tracking responses or corrective action status as assigned.
  • Help train or coach production personnel and inspectors on quality documentation, inspection requirements, defect identification, and process expectations.
  • Perform limited inspection or verification activities when needed; however, the primary focus of this role is quality assurance, process support, documentation, audits, and development toward quality engineering responsibilities.
