The purpose of the Quality Assurance Technician is to ensure that products are produced in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Product Specification criteria. The job exists to improve first pass quality and adherence to cGMPs on the production floor at all times. The Quality Assurance Technician role acts as the quality expert on the production floor and provides guidance and advice to operation colleagues on cGMPs and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) to ensure timely release of product or reaction to issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • 1+ years of prior experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality assurance preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills. (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Ability to follow safety procedures inclusive of Nestle’s Life Saving Rules
  • Ability to speak, read, write in English and comprehend simple instructions
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs., stand, climb, bend, etc. within a warehouse / manufacturing environment.
  • Required to utilize and understand basic digital devices such as computers, iPad, etc.
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs
  • Follow SOPs, GMPs and all other company policies and processes
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals and food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish.

  • Experience with manufacturing equipment functionality
  • Experience in Quality Assurance Systems
  • Experience working with Computer Software such as SAP, Oracle, AS400, PQM, Captiva, etc
  • High organizational skills are required.
  • High attention to detail is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) is required
  • Understanding of mathematical functions, such as mean, median, average, and standard deviation is preferred
  • Exhibit positive attitude regarding work and responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams

Responsibilities

  • Performs in-process testing verifications of manufacturing/packaging data to confirm consistency in testing methodology and test data.
  • Submits daily Analytical and Micro samples to quality control for appropriate testing.
  • Performs Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspections as required.
  • Conducts approval of pre-start-up activities including line/room clearance and initial equipment checks when required.
  • Reviews in-process batch documentation to ensure real-time compliance to product specifications, good documentation practices, company SOPs, and cGMPs.
  • Discusses errors directly with line personnel so corrections can be made if required.
  • Reviews Production logbooks for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensures all colleagues strictly follow SOPs, GDPs, and cGMPs.
  • Performs review and release of batch records/work orders.
  • Conducts daily compliance Audit and floor walk for all applicable areas.
  • Attends and actively participates in cross-functional shift review meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
